Has a Fuse Been Lit - and If So, Can We Extinguish It?

The September 11th, 2009 Pluto station at 0 Capricorn 39 passed without immediate incident, but apparently not without worries. The station triggered raids in New York City as part of a probe of a Denver-based Al Qaeda cell, suspected to be planning a 9/11-like attack. According to a September 15, 2009 New York Daily News story:

A suspected Al Qaeda cell - the first uncovered in the U.S. since 9/11 - drew round-the-clock FBI surveillance Tuesday as authorities said they thwarted its plans for a major terror attack.

Scores of FBI agents inundated Denver as they closed the noose on the five-man cabal with ties to World Trade Center mastermind Osama Bin Laden's terrorist group, sources told the Daily News.

One of the suspects visited New York last week toting bomb-making plans after a trip to Pakistan - home to most of Al Qaeda's leadership, sources said.

The massive federal response was "an indication of just how serious a threat they see this as," said Frances Townsend, former counterterrorism adviser to ex-President George W. Bush.

"The FBI is seriously spooked about these guys," a former senior counterterrorism official told The News. "This is not some ... FBI informant-driven case. This is the real thing."

He drove from Denver to Queens carrying documents and papers about bomb-making and bombs, the sources said. Zazi remained under constant surveillance in suburban Denver Tuesday, three sources said.

This development, viewed alongside the charts presented below, raise two important questions. Should this planetary station be thought of as having potentially seeded a bomb set to explode at a later date? If so, is there anything we can do to defuse this explosion?

As I referenced in my September 8th, 2009 "America at a Crossroads" (but choose not to explore in any depth given the essay's intended dual audience), the planetary symmetries framed by this Pluto station share extraordinary parallels with the chart for the first plane hitting the World Trade Center on 9/11 (as illustrated in the bi-wheel below).

Another disturbing correlation can be found between the chart for the First World Trade Center Bombing, which I noted in my earlier essay took place on the day of the February 26, 1993 Pluto Station. According to the Wikipedia chronology:

"Ramzi Yousef and a Jordanian friend, Eyad Ismoil, drove a yellow Ryder van into Lower Manhattan, and pulled into the public parking garage beneath the World Trade Center around noon. Yousef ignited the 20-foot fuse, and fled. Twelve minutes later, at 12:17:37 pm, the bomb exploded in the underground garage..."

Thus, according to this article, Yousef lit the fuse for his bomb at around 12:05 EST. The descendant for New York City for this moment is 0 Capricorn 39, the exact position of Pluto's on September 11, 2009. Ominous indeed - and yet there was no explosion, of any kind. Yet. The descendant for the actual explosion, at 12:17:37, is 3 Capricorn 30.

Here's yet another eerie parallel. According to a September 19th, 2009 New York Daily News report, the co-conspirators in this plot apparently attempted to rent a truck, which they would have turned into a bomb - as did Yousef in the First World Trade Center attack.

Thanks to the scholarship of Baigent, Campion and Harvey, in "Mundane Astrology", Tarnas, in "Cosmos and Psyche", and Hand, in his prescient pre-9/11 Mountain Astrology article, "A Crisis of Power: Saturn and Pluto Face Off" (among others, and I apologize to anyone active in this research who I may have left out), we astrologers have been made aware that the Saturn-Pluto cycle is perhaps the most potent indicators in all of astrology for the outbreak or escalation of strife that gets world attention. Wars are happening all the time, across the globe. Sad to say, the vast majority of these garner little attention. In contrast, the wars of Saturn-Pluto are the ones where the drums can be heard across the planet. They are the wars that are taught in the history courses. For instance:

Saturn square Pluto, (3rd Q station, within 20' of orb) August 1939) - Outbreak of WWII
Saturn square Pluto, (1st Q) July-November 1956 - Suez Canal Crisis

Saturn square Pluto, (3rd Q station, within 20' of orb) October 1973 - Yom Kippur War
Saturn opposition Pluto, (dual stations, within 2 degrees of orb) August-September 2001 - 9/11 Attack

There are gaps in this quick chronology, which was not meant to be comprehensive. For instance, there's an important conjunction missing from this list, that of November 1982. Nicholas Campion, in a UAC lecture in either 1989 or 1992, was the first to bring to my attention the possibility that the simultaneous US-Soviet nuclear arms buildup of this period might have adequately absorbed the energies of this configuration - especially given what was at stake if both nations went to war - and hence become a substitute for literal combat.

This is relevant to my presentation inasmuch as Saturn will enter Libra on October 30, 2009, forming a conjunction with this recent 0 Capricorn 39 station of Pluto (and the descendant of Yousef's lighting of the fuse for the First World Trade Center bomb) on November 5th, before finally making its station, square transiting Pluto on January 13, 2010, while both are within 1 degree of orb - and with Pluto in a virtually exact conjunction with the Descendant for the actual explosion of the First World Trade Center bomb - and with both square the US Venus.

Freud suggested that sometimes a cigar is only a cigar. As someone born under the Saturn-Pluto square of 1955, perhaps I've become just a little too attuned to the cycles of these two planets for my own good! But as Dennis Elwell, one of my former teachers, once phrased it, "I'm in the prevention business".

Could any of this upcoming Saturn-Pluto activity (including aspects later in the series, not discussed in this piece), in hard aspect to the US Venus, mark the moment for yet another attack on the American people (as opposed to merely another challenging moment for the American dollar, or the economy, or our national comity) - and is there anything that can be done in advance to prevent it? My bias, as always, is that outcomes are not set in stone - and as with Joan Quigley's probable involvement with events surrounding the conjunction of 1982, a bit of astrological prevention might go a long way.
